#001: Love Me Do

Listening to Love Me Do feels a little bit like listening to a favorite story you haven't heard told in a long time. There's something honest and familiar about it, but you don't realize how simple it is until later. I like this song because of its catchy tune and easy harmonies (especially as someone who can't harmonize very well...) The words, the rhythm, everything about this song defines the early Beatles to me. . 

I completed this piece in about an hour. I spent 20 minutes drawing the initial idea, 20 minutes tracing and refining, and the final 20 minutes tracing in pen and filling in with ink. I did this on tracing paper with 01 and 02 Microns. If I had more of my markers with me, I would have filled in the letters with a thicker pen and it wouldn't have taken so long.
